The seeds to the idea of M 6:8 Legal came from the book of Micah chapter 6 verse 8 which says, ‘act justly, love mercy and walk humbly before your God’.
When Mabel Chua was a young girl, she listened to her dad who ran a business with other family members, describe the blessings and importance of having a trusted lawyer in business who genuinely cared for him and the welfare of the family enterprise. Her dad described times when his lawyer would bring valuable input into meetings to try and secure the next contract, or to settle any looming disputes before they spiral out of control.
Many years later, Mabel realised that what her dad had described is often not the experience of many families and businesses. Members of the society often take a cynical view about the integrity of lawyers due to their own bad experiences or the bad experience of others. That should not be the reality for everybody.
At M 6:8 Legal, we believe that there should be greater expressions of true justice and order in the world we live, and lawyers can play a crucial role in bringing about that change.
Our dream is to see a world where people:
- are savvy about their legal rights and obligations;
- treat others fairly; and
- aim to foster commercial relationships which are not just healthy and profitable, but ones which will endure the test of challenging times.
This vision drives what we do, why we do it and how we do it.
Our clients are families and small to medium sized businesses preferring direct access to experienced senior lawyers who communicate frankly and openly about a client’s legal position. Our lawyers are committed to working together with individuals, and the management team of businesses to devise clear just strategies and solutions to resolve legal issues.
